Municipal Utility Workshops
What is it?
These programs are developed based on requests from utility companies and utility associations. They are designed to show the importance of trees, and how to properly maintain them around utilities.
The day-long training session covers multiple topics such as tree selection, drop crotch pruning, setting up a safe work place, ANSI standards, chain saw safety, management of insect and disease problems, and any other specific topics desired by the audience.
These programs are offered throughout the year and can be adopted to indoor and/or outdoor settings. This program is sponsored by the Iowa Urban & Community Forestry Council (IUCFC), Iowa Arborist Association, and Iowa State University Extension.
Who is it for?
The primary clients work for utility companies, belong to an utility association, or tree services that work around utility lines.
What does it cost?
The cost of attending will be listed in the advertisement or can be arranged by contacting ISU Forestry Extension.
